What is the life expectancy of a C4 Corvette? ›

It makes no noise, but then, my brother and father have had numerous vehicles that had no problems with the rear even at nearly 200k miles. So, basically, yes. C4s have a good lifespan. You can probably get 200k out of the motor before needing a rebuild (I'm replacing mine entirely).

That said, no C4 Corvette is going to beat a Toyota Camry in the reliability category; there will be issues you must deal with to move into the high-performance realm. Squeaks and rattles are particularly egregious in C4 Corvettes; the older the car, the worse they become.

The C4 version of the Corvette ZR-1 is an underrated supercar. Looking like a standard Corvette, its heart is a Lotus-designed 32-valve dual overhead cam V8 producing 375 horsepower. I have seen c4s with well over 300k miles on the original motor. I have seen engines not cared for need a rebuild at just over 100k. At the age that c4s are now, mileage is not the concern, its age, If a car has been driven and taken care of, then the consumable parts have been replaced over time as they have worn out.
